LOCAL COMPANIES INVITED TO TRIATHLON
23 FEBRUARY 2006

The search is on for Wakefield's fittest company at the British Triathlon National Championships in the summer.

Entries into the Wakefield Triathlon are being invited from local companies. They will need three people per relay team - one for swimming, one for cycling and one for running.

Pugneys country park will form the setting for the event, which will also see athletes challenging for a place in the Great Britain team for the ITU World Age Group Championships later in the year staged in Lausanne, Switzerland.

There is a separate race for the corporate teams with prizes for the first three.

The race, on Sunday 2 July, includes a 1500 metre swim in the lake, followed by a 40 kilometre bike ride and a 10 kilometre run.

The event is organised by Tri-Society and Wakefield Council and has been confirmed as the British Triathlon National Age Group Championships.

Pugneys will also host a training and warm up event on the day before.

For more information to register your interest in the event, visit www.tri-society.co.uk and send an email via the link. Entry forms will be sent out to all those registering their interest immediately.
