GET FIT AT
NOSTELL PRIORY
22 FEBRUARY 2006

Nostell Priory has opened its grounds to the public.

Wakefield Council's Travel Awareness Team and the National Trust are encouraging people to use the grounds as a place to walk and stay healthy.

Nostell has been privately owned for a few hundred years until the National Trust bought the land with the aim of making it available to everyone.

Healthy Transport Officer Trish Hirst said: "The walk provides a fabulous opportunity for people to look at the local countryside in the grounds of Nostell which is now open to the public - so please, go and have a look!"

The Travel Awareness team has organised a health walk on Thursday, February 23rd leaving at 10.30am from the front doors of the house. The walk lasts an hour and cafe facilities are available afterwards.
