FUN FOR BUDDING
SCIENTISTS

Budding young scientists can carry out experiments on food as part of National Science Week.

There will be practical experience for young people aged seven to 11-years-old who can find out more about food and what's in it.

National Science Week starts on Friday, March 10 to March 19 and is an opportunity for people of all ages to take part in science, engineering and technology activities.

Cabinet Member for Culture Cllr Denise Jeffery said: "National Science Week is the perfect opportunity to get our young people involved in an important subject. We have a lot of fun activities arranged in the coming week at our libraries and anyone taking part can use the event to learn more about science."

The 'What's in it?' activity is at Drury Lane Library on Saturday, March 11 between 1-2pm. Phone 01924 305376 for more details.

Other activities around Wakefield include a junior science and literacy event at Normanton Library at 4.30pm on March 13 and activities for children at South Elmsall Library between 4 and 5pm on March 15 and science fun for children aged five to 11 at Stanley Library on March 18 between 11am and noon.
