COACHES ON THE FLATTS, AIRE STREET

I
would like to thank Mr. D. Hall for submitting the photographs of the
annual coach outing from Aire Street, Knottingley. I would guess that the
photos date from about 1958.
If
you go down to Aire Street today and look at the river, then at the river
in the photographs, you will see that the islands in the centre have grown
to the point where you can no longer see over them.
I
remember we used to walk to them and saw cattle standing in the river.

above just goes to show how people can work together to the benefit of all
concerned and at times it is crazy why more and more people don't get
involved and start to share the information they have available to them.
