With so much information available on the Knottingley website it seems only appropriate that we should use these resources to compile and publish an online quiz. Hopefully, not only will this further your knowledge about our local history but it will also provide you with a lot more entertainment and added interest and allow you the opportunity to compete for the top position in our High Score table. This is how it will all work:

Over the coming weeks we will be working through all the articles featured on this website and using this material to compile a series of questions to add to our database.  Initially, our Online Quiz will present visitors with a pre-determined number of random questions from the database which will need to be answered within the time frame allowed. There will be no limit as to the number of times an individual can attempt the quiz.

Obviously, the more times you take the quiz the more accustomed you will become to learning the correct answers to each question and so as new questions are added to the database, the points value for answering the more recent questions correctly will increase. A newly added question will therefore be worth more than one which has been on our database for some time.  When the number of questions on the database is sufficient, each entrant will have the opportunity to answer as many questions as possible within the specified time frame. New questions will continue to be added regularly until we have a substantial database of relevant and interesting questions.

Any visitor can attempt our Online Quiz and there is no need to register first. Just enter a desired User Name in the box at the bottom of the introduction page (HINT: Try to make it a name that no-one else will choose by using a combination of letters and numbers) and then click the start button. At the end of the quiz click the submit button to view your score and grade and to record your result on our database.

If you would like to receive a report by e-mail containing the results of your quiz you must enter your current e-mail address on the quiz introductory page before you begin. At the end of the quiz you will receive an e-mail containing your results and the correct answers to any that you answered incorrectly.
