Mr. Ron Gosney's Response

There was a marriage at St Giles, Pontefract on 9th September 1839 between Peter Hill and Elizabeth Cawthorn.

Peter Hill, Full Age a Widower, Printer of Knottingley, son of John, a miner
Elizabeth Cawthorn, Full Age a Widow of Knottingley, daughter of John Crabtree a mariner

There was only one child baptised at Knottingley, St. Botolph's
13th September 1840, Emma, daughter of Peter and Elizabeth, a potter

The marriage record says Peter was a Printer so I assume he was a printer at the pottery.

I have no trace of the family in the 1841, 1851 or 1862 census so presumably they had moved from the Knottingley area.
