grandfather was born in Ferrybridge c1784. In 1823 he was in Burton Pidsea,
having married a Sarah? from Silkstone. This information was obtained from
the 1851 census. A
William Wilkinson appears in the IGI for 1784. Would like to know more.

Regarding your
enquiry for a William Wilkinson, born in Ferrybridge c1784, the name
Wilkinson appears to have been quite a common name in Ferrybridge during
the 1700s
On 21 December
1772 at St. Andrew's Church, Ferrybridge, Thomas Wilkinson married Rachel
Halcroft (or Hawcroft) and they had the following children:
30 October 1774, Richard
21 December 1776, Thomas (buried 1 December 1778)
23 February 1780, Fanny
14 May 1784, William
13 February 1787 Thomas (buried 21 March 1788)
3 May 1789, George
10 June 1792, Mary.
Thomas, the
father, is described as a labourer and the dates shown are dates of
baptism.
