STACEY
FAMILY HISTORY My great grandmother Sarah Ann STACEY was born in the Knottingley workhouse in January 1839. Her mother was Sarah STACEY formerly CLARK. The father is not mentioned on the birth certificate, nor is he mentioned on her marriage certificate. The birth was registered by the Master of the Workhouse a ? Smith. I wondered if there is any information about the Workhouse in Knottingley or the family. I haven't been able to find anything on other sites for that particular year. As I trace my family tree I find I have other connections with the area. My ggg grandparents were Mark Campbell and Mary Eastwood from Brotherton. I congratulate you on an excellent site and have been very pleased to find the link to Brian Townsley's family trees. I would be most appreciative of any information about the Staceys/Clarks.
