RAINSFORTH

I am
researching my family tree and have found that my Great Grandparents, John
and Christania RAINSFORTH, originated from Knottingley. Both were
born about the year 1848 and I think that Christania was named BROWN
before her marriage to John.
They were
married June Qtr of 1869, I think, and their first four children were also
born in Knottingley:
Mary Alice b.1869
Jane Maria b.1872
John b.1876
Florence b.1878
Around 1880,
the family moved to Gainsborough, Lincs and at about that time John
Rainsforth was described as a sailor - merchant navy.
After moving
to Gainsborough they had four more children - including my grandfather
Ernest Rainsforth b. 30 April 1881.
