BRAIM
FAMILY HISTORY
5 MARCH 2006
On
the Arnold family tree featured on your excellent website, there is
mention of a George Arnold b.1846 marrying Elizabeth Braim in 1874.
Elizabeth is one of my ancestors.
Can you tell me where you got this
information
or do you have a copy of their marriage certificate as she only appears on
the 1871 and 1881 census but with none of her parents and I would like
to find out who her parents were to be able to see how she was related to
Thomas b.1824 and Emma Braim b.1826 and their son Benjamin b.1860 all from
Knottingley. She is not on the B.M.D index
for Knottingley either! Any help or sources of information would be great!

As
good luck would have it I have researched this name before and this is
what I think is the line for Elizabeth Ann.
Thomas
Braim, born c.1771/72, married Phoebe Scatchard, 9th June 1794, at
Castleford. One of his children was *John, baptised 25 June 1797 and
Thomas the father is a Carpenter.
*John
Braim, baptised 25 June 1797, buried 14 Januray 1868 at St. Andrew's
Church, Ferrybridge, married Elizabeth Perfect on 18th April 1822, at St.
Giles Church, Pontefract. She was buried on the 6th February 1873 at
Ferrybridge. They had children with baptism dates:
**13
July 1823, Thomas; 4 April 1826, Benjamin; 31 August 1828, Joseph; 21
November 1830, John; 18 November 1832, Eliza; 19 April 1835, Anne and 26
January 1840, Elizabeth.
**Thomas
Braim, baptised 13 July 1823, died in August 1912, aged 90, a
joiner/undertaker, married Emma Saul, 27th September 1846 at St. Giles,
Pontefract and she was buried 9 July 1895, aged 69. They had 13
children. After the death of Emma, Thomas married again to a Jane A
(but I don't know who, when or where).
Of
the 13 children, there were six boys and seven girls, including
***Elizabeth Ann, baptised 24 December 1848 at Christ Church, Knottingley,
and Benjamin, baptised 22 July 1860 (he married Lucy Ann Horncastle)
I
think that Benjamin Braim, baptised 4 April 1826, and brother of Thomas
(1823) married twice and his second wife was Elizabeth Saul, sister of
Emma, the wife of Thomas Braim.

you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me again.
Best
wishes
