I have been conducting a one-name study of the Laidman family for a number of years. Just about all Laidmans originate from Bowes, North Yorkshire, where I have traced the family back to c. 1540 and the name to 1327. There is a 'Knottingley group' of Laidman's however, which I have so far been unable to connect to the 'main' group. I would be most grateful for anything which would enable me to trace the arrival of the Laidmans in Knottingley.
