Although
this photograph is obviously posed, being taken in Marble Arch, Aire Street,
it
reveals the working mans love of gambling which was a feature of Knottla Feast
in the late nineteenth century.
Third from the left is 'Happy Joe' Bagley, a well known Knottingley character
who was at the centre of town life during the 1930s,
particularly events such as
the carnival.
