LANCE CORPORAL EDWIN SAWYER

The sad news has been received by Mr. and Mrs. Sawyer of Providence Place, The Holes, Knottingley, that their son Lance Corporal Sawyer, of the Northumberland Fusiliers, was killed in action on the 21st of March.

The deceased was in his 21st year only.  He joined the colours on December 20th 1916. Before that he was employed at the railway station, Knottingley. He was well respected and had many friends.
