Pontefract Market

Pontefract Market Hall is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9.00am until 5.00pm and offers a wide variety of quality goods.

Pontefract Open Market, in the centre of the town on the pedestrian precinct, is held on Wednesday and Saturday.  A small Fresh Produce Market is held on Friday.

Pontefract Craft and Flea Market is held on Wednesday in the town library.

The market was established under a number of Royal Charters, the first Charter being granted in 1194 and a Charter in 1484 granted and confirmed the Mayor of the Authority of Pontefract that they and their successors may have in the Authority or Borough one market to be held there on every seventh day for ever on every Saturday.

Pontefract Market is the largest street market in the district and comprises 115-117 demountable stalls.

Castleford Market

Held at Market Place, Carlton Street on Monday, Friday and Saturday. 
There is a second-hand market held on Thursday.

Established in 1880 under the Markets and Fairs Clauses of 1847,  Castleford market comprises 108 fixed stalls.
