Knottingley and Ferrybridge Online was created in May 2000 with the aim of documenting the history of the town and the local community from a personal level  It has always been our aim to gather as much information as possible from local people and those with ties to the area so that we can develop a picture of life in the town from a locals perspective.

Historical facts about the town are already well documented by those who know far more about it than we do and several books are available which cover the subject in detail.  We provide a small amount of historical data for those who wish to read a brief account but we refer you to the works by locally respected authors, researchers and contributors for more detailed analysis.

Knottingley and Ferrybridge Online is un-sponsored and is maintained on a voluntary basis.  It receives no income and the financial commitments are covered by its creator and webmaster, Michael Norfolk.
